Spring Menu at Union Social
I was invited to try the new Spring 2022 menu at Union Social. Situated opposite Stratford International Station on the 1st floor of The Gantry Hotel. Union Social features a pretty outdoor terrace.
As we arrived we enjoyed some drinks at Coupe bar. Which faces the restaurant. Coupe bar focuses specifically on sparkling wines and has its own sheltered mini outdoor terrace.
After a delicious orange and prosecco bellini at the bar. We were seated in the restaurant for dinner.
To start, we enjoyed some tasty cod fritters with hollandaise sauce. Aranchini, which is fried rice and cheese in batter. Plus bread with a Santorini style fava dip. I've never tasted Hummus with such a delicious star anise flavour before.
To drink we tried some cocktails. A choco-beet paloma. Which is a refreshing taste of beetroot. Lemon thyme. Cacao and soda.
I really enjoyed the Pomegranate martini. Which is sweet and sour with Pomegranate. Ginger and lemon.
I had a filling plate of Tori chicken gantzu as my main, and for dessert it was raspberry mille feuille. Beautifully presented with tangy raspberries. I also tried some dark chocolate brownie with whipped. Salted caramel ganache and vanilla icecream.
This casual restaurant is welcoming for hotel guests and visitors. It's the perfect place for remote working during the day and socialising by night. With scheduled dj evenings to look forward to.
