What could be better than a rooftop setting with hip hop tunes being spun by one of the best djs in town. Bottomless drinks courtesy of Hennessey and the most delicious food possible!
Skylight is a rooftop bar with two popular locations in London. Both possess equally enviable views. I had visited the first skylight at tobacco dock a few years ago. Where you can play lawn games like petanque.
It was my first time playing petanque at skylight and a fun way to enjoy a summers day. With multiple food and drink vendors to purchase your meal of choice from. This is a mostly outdoor rooftop bar with a more casual setting.
Whereas the second skylight is a slice of hidden luxury in the heart of Peckham. Ascend upwards to a spacious restaurant. Complete with a bar and dance floor.
Skylight Peckham also have bbq barrels and a second mini outdoor bar on their terrace. With unspoilt views across London. You'll be able to soak in the skyline even from inside, thanks to floor to ceiling windows leading out to the terrace.
I visited skylight Peckham on the first Saturday in May for a Hip hop brunch. Taking place every first Saturday of the month. Hip hop brunch was a popular event and with even warmer days coming, I advise you get your tickets early for the next one!
Live DJ'S and an mc perform and interact with the crowd throughout your brunch. With the coronation being shown on a large screen behind them when I visited.

Combining Skylight’s delectable brunch offering with Hennessy cocktails and incredible rooftop views, the brunch will be set to the soundtrack of nostalgic hip hop favourites, guaranteeing the ultimate party atmosphere from 1pm to 6pm on the first Saturday of every month.
Chef Karan has developed an exciting new menu with some special Hennessy additions alongside familiar brunch favourites.
Dishes at skylight include crisp belgian waffles with Hennessy syrup and a variety of delicious toppings, including poached conference pears with smooth vanilla mascarpone, fresh smoked salmon with poached eggs and dill, and chicken karaage with a sweet chilli pickle.
Make it bottomless and enjoy one hour of Hennessy drinks alongside your food.
A linchpin of the UK hip hop scene for more than a decade, DJ Firestarr will be spinning the ultimate tracks to kick off the weekend. Set against the breathtaking views of London's skyline from Canary Wharf to The London Eye.
Born out of love for hip hop culture and brunch, the next events in the calendar are 6th May, 3rd June, 1st July, 5th August & 2nd September 2023.
My review
Me and a friend arrived at the fourth floor to the lively sound of a dj and live host interacting with restaurant goers at skylight. As we sat at our table for the next four hours, I took in the gorgeous views across London. Even on the grey, raining Saturday that we visited, it still managed to look impressive.
Outside on the rooftop terrace amongst seating is a pink telescope for getting a better view of the city. The signs and stylish plant walls dotted around the venue make for the perfect photo opp. There was even a professional photographer set up. Ready and willing to take pictures of guests.
I enjoyed two cocktails from the menu. A passion fruit martini and a strawberry bellini.
To eat I ordered fries, with Truffle and parmesan and my main brunch item was waffles with battered chicken. Which both looked and tasted divine.
It was an unpretentious afternoon of fun, in cute surroundings. The bright, spacious bar/restaurant is filled with plants and some pops of colour. Thanks to artwork l. The walls and comfy textiles.
With guests encouraged to get up and dance once their food had digested! Music was a mix of house, rnb, hip hop and bashment.
Some guests in attendance purely for drinks so there's also that option. Each night of the week holds a different event at Skylight Peckham. With live music five nights of the week.
Every Thursday skylight partner with local & global talent to bring you live acoustic sets to pair with their incredible views, cocktails & sharing platters. Other events include rooftop comedy a range of brunch and dj takeovers.
For £10 a day, you can also enjoy unlimited tea and coffee whilst you work remotely at the comfort of skylight. With fast WiFi and a power plug to keep your devices charged. I'll definitely be spending a sunny day hot desking at skylight.
