The new menu is packed with trending sea-inspired ingredients including seaweed, seagrass and wakame kelp.
With an increased demand for superfood ingredients from the sea. Searches for ‘seaweed snack recipes’ are up by 245% this year.

So leading London bar and restaurant group, Drake & Morgan, are unveiling their new ‘Under the Sea’ menu bursting with these nutritional ingredients across food and cocktails. Including the flavoursome and vivid colours of seaweed, seagrass, kelp and spirulina.

The Anthologist

I recently visited the anthologist. Walking distance from bank station, where the restaurant is decked inside and out front with a nautical. Under sea theme. Perfect in time for the release of the little mermaid if you ask me!

As you arrive at the anthologist. The first thing you'll notice are their tall windows framed by beautiful drift wood. Coral, seaweed and seashells.

Visit me on Instagram to see 4k quality video footage of the anthologist and the food I enjoyed there.

As you venture inside the intimately lit restaurant features a pub style bar and lots of seating for both drinkers and diners. On a warm day outdoor dining is also an option.

Seafood lovers will be glad to know that you can enjoy cockle popcorn. Calamari or scampi - and that's just for starters!

Chefs favourite is the breaded seabass main with wakame kelp. However, the seaweed mash with grilled salmon sounds particularly interesting.

It was a relaxed vibe at the anthologist and I love that you can feel comfortable dressed up or more on the casual side at any one of their bars and restaurants.

This bar and restaurant perfectly located in the heart of the city is open from breakfast through til dinner each day. As well as late night get togethers over the weekends.

My review

We were seated indoors beneath the gold ceiling at the anthologist. The cocktail menu, which is also under sea themed is where we began. My first cocktail of the evening from the coastal cocktails section of the menu was a vivid blue colour thanks to the addition of seagrass.

The seagrass sour tasted delicious. With the sweetness of plum sake and seagrass syrup.

My husbands drink of choice - the message in a bottle came as described.. In a cute glass bottle. Made using Lost Years Rum who work with wildlife conservations and save a turtle hatching for every cocktail sold.

Starters were the vegan shrimp lollipops which were my favourite dish of the evening. Tasting unbelievably realistic. With fresh batter, sea salt and lime. If you don't eat seafood but would love to know what you missing. Give these a try.

We also enjoyed a mini chicken skewers starter dish and my main was traditional fish and chips. Complete with beer batter. Mushy peas and tarter sauce.

My second drink of choice from the martini section, really did look the part. Even if it wasn't quite to my taste preference. The Pearls of ocean martini containing samphire infused gin. If you like strong tasting. Savoury drinks, you may just love this martini.

Weirdly enough, it did have a sea water taste about it! Arriving with a clam shell on top of the martini glass. Faux caviar, which look impressively real. But are actually just balsamic pearls. The final ingredient - flakes of parmesan.
Fish n chips

If you're going to try a cocktail, why not choose something totally unique and perfectly sea themed like the?? Caution - pair this drink with something savoury!
