Why you need to experience a floating hot tub cinema

Skuna Hot Tub boats Review

I can't think of a better place to watch a Christmas classic than in a floating hot tub! Watching a classic Christmas movie in a floating outdoor hot tub boat is one of the best things I've done all year. Tickets include some fresh popcorn - I recommend the salted caramel flavour. It was delicious with sugar, salt and cinnamon spices. You'll also receive a cup of hot mulled wine and a bottle of still or sparkling wine.

Everything has been carefully thought of at Skuna Hot tub boats. With floating popcorn boxes to keep your snacks dry. Plus a log fire that will keep the water nice and hot for you throughout the evening. Our evening began by getting changed in a private heated Christmas log cabin that was cute enough to sleep in. We were equipped with some all important Santa hats. Fresh towels and bath robes. After a short walk to the boats it was time to soak and relax under the twinkling lights of Canary wharf.

Skuna hot tub also have floating bbq boats - stationary or cruising. Along with one of a kind hot tub cruises! Bookings can be made all year, and you'll be perfectly warm in the hot tub boats as temperatures are kept at 38°C/100°F and the water can be heated to 40°C if required. So even in the event of snow this will be a positive experience for you and your guests.

In a bbq boat or hot tub cruise boat you'll cruise the historic West India Quay docks at canary wharf or Alexandra Lake at Lakeside shopping centre. Choose from a guided tour, or self drive with no experience necessary.

The floating hot tubs are deep enough to submerge your whole body in and I'm tall! Plus the santa hats are the finishing touch to keeping you warm. We enjoyed the muppets Christmas carol.

About The Muppets Christmas Carol

This 1992 musical comedy sees Michael Caine starring as Ebenezer Scrooge. This iconic Christmas story by Charles Dickens is brought to life by the talented Muppets. Kermit the Frog takes on the role of Bob Cratchit, a hardworking clerk under the grip of penny-pinching Ebenezer Scrooge. Throughout the narrative, beloved characters such as Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, and Sam the Eagle make appearances. As Scrooge is visited by three Christmas spirits - past, present, and future. He begins to realizer the error of his self-serving ways. But is he beyond redemption and destined for a life of misery?

What I didn't know is that both the voices of Miss Piggy and the ghost of Christmas past were male voices. I've never properly given the Muppets or their movies my full attention, but it turned out to be a lovely film. With laughs along the way. Some tear jerking moments and a happy ending.

In the following days, Skuna Hot tub screened Home Alone and Elf. We had a spacious hot tub all to ourselves and so can you if you choose to upgrade your tickets to a non shared tub. Tickets do sell out quickly, so bookmark this page as a reminder for next Christmas.

The invention of the hot tub

It is said that hot tubs began to appear in the US as early as the 1940s. Inspired by the Japanese ofuro. Hydrotherapy pumps were later introduced by Roy Jacuzzi and the term jacuzzi was born. The first modern home spas were said to originate in California around 1958, often made out of old redwood vats and discarded wine barrels.

The hot tub has evolved since the initial models and now hot tub boats are a thing! Originating from Scandanavias famous nordic bath tradition. Where a Wood-fired hot tub can help you spend time outdoors in all weather conditions. Personally, I used to avoid being outdoors in cold weather, but thanks to hot tubs. Hot springs and infra red heaters it's now a sensory delight I look forward to.

Conclusion : Why you need to experience a floating hot tub cinema

The sensation of floating combined with the heat from our hot tub. Contrasting crisp fresh air from the great outdoors. Plus a feel good film to enjoy is such a sensory delight. We left feeling warm and relaxed. The journey home didn't feel cold or tense. The overcrowded train wasn't a bother. Two hours in a floating hot tub combined with a nice beverage and tasty snacks did wonders for us lasting through to the next day.

An outdoor hot tub that floats on a river is a positively unusual experience and these positive but unusual experiences tend to be the moments that stick with us. I highly recommend skuna boat. The staff were super friendly and help you every step of the way. The facilities were clean and festive and my husband and I enjoyed it so much that we hope to watch another Christmas classic in the comfort of a floating hot tub again next winter.
