The Location

Maya is a restaurant located in the north of London, specifically close to transport links.

The restaurant's entrance may seem unassuming at first glance but once inside, diners are transported into a cave-like space filled with intricate carvings. This creates an intimate ambiance perfect for date nights or small gatherings.

My experience at Maya Restaurant 

I was recently invited to dine at one of the most gorgeous London based restaurants. Maya lounge - a cave restaurant that literally transports you away to a whole different world!

 

Sounds rather extreme I know. However once you see Maya lounge in person you'll understand my excitement. 

Maya is a spacious restaurant. Complete with live DJ'S. Live belly dancing. Amazing decor including stunning lanterns on the high stone like ceilings. 

Plus, the restaurant has those all important Instagram backdrops. For the perfect photo opportunities. But what surprised me the most was the size of the place. 

With a secret cave entrance that leads to two floors of restaurant space. Not to mention the realistic looking detail of the cave restaurant. 

This unique Shisha Lounge and restaurant brought back memories of real cave hotels I once knew and loved. During a vacation to Cappadocia in Turkey.

We started our Thursday night with some photos and video content. Taking in a relaxed tour of the large cave restaurant. Complete with pretty floral and waterfall installations. Plus a neon sign with the hashtag #findmeatmaya. The design of Maya lounge definitely gives holiday vibes. 

My first cocktail of the night was called 'take me to paradise'. And that's exactly what this colourful cocktail, combined with the restaurant setting did! It's one of the best cocktails I've ever had in London. A sweet treat including tropical fruit like mango amongst its ingredients. 

We enjoyed a sharing platter of mixed mezze. Complete with flat breads. Falafel. Flavoursome dips with salad. My friend and I especially enjoyed the potatoes in this dish. 

Next came our main course. A delicious platter of mixed meat kebab skewers. My second drink of the evening after much deliberation was the red dress. A cranberry based cocktail. The drinks menu here is long and versatile for all tastes. 

During two live bellydancing performances we enjoyed some mixed fruit Shisha. The Bellydancer was very friendly. Encouraging us to get up and dance with her. Her costumes and props made for a stunning show. 

A sharing platter of fresh fruit was our dessert to end an incredible evening of good food. Great music and entertainment in the dreamy surroundings of Maya Lounge.
