What are the best beaches in England?

best beaches England
Durdle door in Dorset - one of the best beaches in England
As we finally look towards coming out of lockdown. The sun is shining and temperature rising around England. A phenomenon for those of us in the northern hemisphere.

Many of us won't be feeling too confident about spending our 2020 summer holiday abroad. So how about a vacation spent at one of the best beaches England has to offer?

Read on to see my best picks.

Sandy beaches

Would you believe that there's a sandy beach just and hours drive outside of London. On the isle of Sheppey in Kent, England.

Sunny beaches

The sunny town of Bognor Regis makes it onto my list of best beaches in England. Only because Bognor Regis is alleged to be the sunniest part of England and it's home to Butlins!

Sunny doesn't mean warm mind, and there's no soft sand at Bognor Regis. Only pebbles.

Colourful beaches

Mersea Island in Essex is one of the best beaches in England for taking photos. As the beach has a colourful row of beach huts along the sand.

Plus Mersea Island beach is not far from London.

Unique Beaches

My personal favourite beach out of all the beaches that I've visited in England has to be durdle door in Dorset.

It has such a beautiful landscape. That's part of the national trust. Perfect for hiking from Lulworth Cove to Mupe bay and durdle door beaches.

Durdle door is really nice for a family holiday or romantic retreat. With the option to camp. Or park in the car park. Just above durdle door beach.

The campsite isn't very nice however. Durdle door is a pebble beach, but it's so scenic and unique. With the durdle door archway that some have even had the privilege of kayaking through.

I also really like the beach at seven sisters cliffs. Because the beauty of the white cliffs never get old.

Bournemouth beach gets lovely and warm in the summer.

It's a sandy beach that has all the fun of a traditional England beach. With arcades. Restaurants and funfair rides. It's best for families.
Best beaches in England
Botany Bay is another favourite of mine. A sandy beach with it's impressive white cliff structures.

Further afield for those of us in and around London are the beautiful beaches on the isle of Scilly in Jersey.

Promising turquoise waters. The warmest summertime seas and weather of all of England. Thanks to it's position.
